Dear Editor,

After reading "Dignity Village is not a solution," I attended a council meeting, offered input, read their core values, volunteered, and decided the problem must be somewhere else and that these folks are finding very sensible solutions. If given a chance, I believe these passionate pioneers would surprise everyone. They are dedicated to values that heal our people and planet. Not only that, they are already doing it on a shoesstring budget. Let's look beyond the appearances and help them create their vision. That is what they are doing whether they get our help or not, and I have no doubt they will succeed.

Shouldn't we be working with those who may have the greatest understanding, compassion and ultimately the most practical solutions? This is a unique opportunity to support those who are a possible key to an increasing problem. May they be treated with honor, respect, and "Dignity."

Sincerely,

Daniel N. Howe
